For Wednesday, Feb. 3

We look at a piece of writing about Ireland from a different perspective. Please do the following for Wednesday’s class:

  • Read “Memoir” in the Bedford Book of Genres pg. 57-60
  • Read the pdf of selections from Edna O’Brien’s Mother Ireland on Course Reserves. You’ll have to login to your Emory account and select our class. Mother Ireland will be the first listed. Note that many of the pages are photographs. You should read the captions to the photos. Because of all the photographs, feel free to read this on a computer/iPad rather than printing it out. Just be sure to bring your device to class.
  • Write another blog post of at least 100 words responding to O’Brien’s piece and her representation of Ireland. Post to your website, or email to me.
